Sonia Desai Rayka (she/her) is a documentary filmmaker and cultural worker whose body of work interrogates the embodied consequences of borders and how despite threats to our worlds, joy persists. Her directorial work has been supported by Firelight Media, Blackstar Projects, BRIC TV, Next Doc, and Asian American Documentary Network. She is currently in production on a documentary short on migration, artistry, and homemaking through the eyes of a child. Based in Brooklyn by way of Ohio, Sonia is the granddaughter of Raghunath and Dhanaben.
